DIY Room Spray
Here at The Candlemakers Store, we’re proud to offer supplies for more than just candles. In fact, we provide supplies and fragrances for various applications, including room spray. Our Complete Room Spray Starter Kit is a great value and a great way to get started making your own custom scented room spray. However, if you don’t want to get the starter kit, you’ll need the following items a la carte:
- Room Spray Base
- Plastic Spray Bottles
- Fragrance Oils
Follow this simple guide to create a custom scented room spray.
Step 1: Fill Spray Bottle(s)
Begin by filling each bottle to the shoulder with the base liquid.
Step 2: Select and Add Fragrance
Add fragrance at 8-10% volume of base solution (approximately 2 to 2.4 tsp. per 4 oz. bottle). Fragrance strengths and personal preference differ, so it’s a good idea to start with a relatively small amount of fragrance. You can always add more if you desire.
Step 3: Mix
After adding the fragrance, your room spray solution may look cloudy. If so, shake the bottle gently. The liquid will first turn bubbly and then begin to clear. With the fragrance levels needed in room spray, your liquid may not become entirely clear. If this look bothers you, you can use amber colored bottles to hide the cloudiness.
Step 4: Label
Each bottle should be labeled as you finish mixing in the fragrance. Labeling your bottles makes it easier to tell them apart since most fragrances are clear.
Step 5: Test and Adjust
To test your new room spray, lightly spritz it. If you want a stronger scent, add more fragrance oil.
Step 6: Enjoy
You can now scent your room with freshness!
