DIY Goatsmilk Lotion

There are many, many benefits of using goat’s milk in lotion and other skincare products. The vitamins and lactic acid present in goat’s milk help nurture and rejuvenate for soft, healthy skin. Here at The Candlemakers Store, we offer various fragrances and supplies for many different purposes, including making lotion with goat’s milk. Our Complete Goat’s Milk Lotion Starter Kit is a great value and a great way to get started making custom scented lotion. If you choose not to use our starter kit, you’ll require the following items:

Having gathered all of your supplies, it’s time to make your lotion!

Step 1: Dispense Lotion Base

Using a pump, dispense the lotion base into bowls in preparation to mix in fragrance(s). You will need the same number of bowls as fragrances you wish to make.

HINT: If you are using our Goat’s Milk Lotion Starter Kit, you may wish to drill or cut a small hole into the lid of the lotion base container and insert the pump through this hole. Unfortunately, our pumps do not fit the lid diameter of these bottles.

Step 2: Mix in Fragrance

Mix your preferred fragrance (or fragrance combination) into the base a little bit at a time until you reach your desired fragrance strength.

Step 3: Fill Bottles

If you are creating a large batch of lotion (5 or more bottles) with the same fragrance, you can put the lotion in a pot on the stove and heat it to appx. 170° F (no higher than 175° F). Once heated, it can be more easily poured into the individual bottles.

If you are making a small batch or individual bottles, you can place the lotion into a resealable plastic bag, cut a small hole in a lower corner of the bag, and squeeze the lotion into the bottles like using a frosting bag.

Step 4: Enjoy Your Lotion!
